Ein Misanthrop: Die Menschheit ist es nicht wert gerettet zu werden.
Sphinx: Die Menschheit muss gerettet werden, um es wert sein zu können, gerettet zu werden.

Misanthrop zu sein hält mich nicht davon ab Optimist zu sein.

A misanthrop: Humanity is not worth saving it.
Sphinx: Humanity have to be saved so that it will be worth to be saved.

Being a misanthrop doesn't detain me from being an optimist.

Ps: If someone has a suggestion for a more precise translation I'd be happy to hear it.
